No wunder you cant win any war...war is more than yelling and bimbo brainwashing
Got many marines in my family but we suggest that no one joins while we have crazy fools in Washington DC right and im former army myself. We have idiots in Washington DC now in fact I and many former Col. Say Washington DC is our true #1 threat now
Thanks Buffalo
Fascinating video, however, the video states that Madison was part of the Republican party, there was no Republican party, he was a member of the democratic Republican party. Abraham Lincoln was the first president of the Republican party founded , in part, on the principles of anti-slavery.
November 1984 to November 2004 Retired a GySgt
“ SEMPER FI “ 12/06/1971 was my tour . 🦅🌎⚓️👍🏼😎🍺🍺🇺🇸
This is all a sick joke. Especially since the situation is many times worse today as I speak in June 2024.
"impressed" is a polite word for 'conscripted'.
If they only knew who there country truly is.
The marines will never forget Beirut in 1983 😂.
In 1812, the entire world always remembers the Napoleonic Wars and not the War of 1812. Kinda an underrated historical event
Hopefully this would inspire me to join the marine corps
Speaking as a Canadian, I was amused, whilst in Nova Scotia, to observe a statute of Benedict Arnold, the great American traitor. No American tourist has ever complained. As I recall, it is a well visited area near where Titanic's victims are buried. There will never be a statue of Trump. Arnold had a different view of the forward development of North America, but was still viewed as a man of honor. Trump qualifies as a seditionist involved in treason, but lacks any sense of honor.
I love how serious usmc instructors get ... would like to see a pie in the face in that moment
Honor, Courage, and Commitment. Semper Fi brothers
That man I fear is an idiot: "It was a great coup for the Republican party and it kept them in power for a few more years" What a smug vain little man - the Republican party wasn't founded for another 50 years. That was supposedly a historian? I think not

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL
Pretty amazing story.
War of 1812? When was that?
🙄 OH Please! I can't roll my eyes hard enough! 🙄
Toronto is not the capital of Canada its Ottawa lol
Hello! During the War of 1812, the capital of Upper Canada was York which is now present-day Toronto.
Every time I hear the voice of Joe Mantegna, I feel as though my life is in danger
Oooh sounds a BIT ARROGANT. But loved most of his stuff. 😊
The leaders of the US seeks enemies, and declares that so and so country is an enemy..
I actually thought that I was alone here until watching this video but Michael there knows what he's talking about and it is good to see a glimmer of light and hope shine. There are troublesome time's are ahead children we should all strive to protect the weak and the kind the pure and the good and the sick and injured.
Can’t have NO AFRICAN drill sergeant in my face like that!
I'm from Brazil, I'm 62 years old, but since I was little I've always had a great admiration for the indigenous people of the United States, a very strong connection that I can't explain, but I feel part of their history and way of life, even though I'm so far away. geographically, I never lost this deep connection. Recently I started to rediscover channels on the internet that show their culture and influence, I am very happy when I see the meetings and expression of the values that time has not erased, when I see them, it seems that the same feeling moves within me.
stop cheering me up (:
Man even if us women can’t be deployed to active combat roles due to stress loads of gear, send us out on scouting or some sort of quick agile back up. Women are very quick and agile compared to men, as we all have strengths and weaknesses with the 2 different genders. As an aspiring marine, that’s my take. I wish to serve with my brothers, even if I am a woman. If the woman is capable, and wants to, let her, I feel. I am aware of opinions on this matter and I’m open to all if you wish to contribute.
There should be ALL WOMEN UNIT'S !
Hahahhaha when I call no one answer, so I pretended someone answer soo they dont mess with me lol 😅
Buck sergeant, USMC, 1973. I served a 3-year hitch, 54 years ago. Even now, in my mid-seventies, a day seldom passes in which I don't think about my time in the Mean Green Machine.
Thank you for your service devil dog 🎉
I was also born in buffalo ny.love it here.
1812 was a war Americans try to forget, with good reason.
The ancestors are looking down proud🙏🏾
When I see a Marine I think RESPECT.
J'ai une admiration sans bornes pour ce pianiste, pour sa musique mais aussi pour sa personne.
Thank you for sharing this! Amazing production value and a wonderful listen.
I loved. US History when I was in high school. I took the class when I was in the 11th grade. I had such a great memory back then. Sometimes some people in the class tried to ask for help during a test. I took that course again for six weeks at BC.
This is some pure woke garbage. All these historians are either Canadian or British (except for the one Maryland black historian). Even the narrator speaks with a Canadian accent. Quite surprising from PBS. I recommend the documentary "First Invasion: The War of 1812" and watch it side by side with this documentary to get a more balanced approach to the War of 1812.
7:04 "war was pushed by a republican party based in the centre and south with the support of the western warhawks" is this documentary supposed to be taken seriously when we know the Republican Party wasn't founded until 1854... or perhaps you meant Democratic-Republicans which was the predecessors to the Democratic Party or the National Republican Party (which was founded in 1824 and dissolved in 1834)...
Ok
Might be easy if the Thai marine corp try do the training test
It's 1812. The United States wanted Native American lands and Canada. Teepees and Tim Hortons. 😆 Of course, the United States never got Canada. Back in 1812, Canada was still part of the British Empire which the United States was at war against. What most don't realize is that the War of 1812 ended in a draw. Neither the U.S. or Britain lost any territory in North America. Canadians view themselves as victorious as well in that war for fighting off the invading Americans. It's complicated, because even as the War of 1812 (which lasted as long as 1814) was going on, Britain also was dealing with this short, smug guy in France named Napoleon. Had it not been for Britain's resources being tied up in the Napoleonic Wars, I think they could have easily took back the former colonies that made up the United States.
Thank too all natives, protecting turtle Island ❤
Who approved the design of the museum? That architecture is horrific... almost insulting...
